7 Month Update

Andrew has experienced a lot of new things this past week:

1) We lowered Andrew's crib mattress.  Recently we have been laying him down in his crib and later when we go to get him... he is sitting up.  Not too much longer before he is crawling and standing up on his own... better to be safe than sorry.

2) This past Saturday, Josh was helping Karl and Audrey move so it was just me and Andrew.  He was a well behaved boy and extremely happy and playful until 3:30pm, then all of a sudden he became a monster!  He screamed and screamed and screamed... nothing would soothe him.  After trying everything to make calm down, I ran my finger across his gums and sure enough I felt a tooth!  Poor baby!  Andrew the terror was short lived... he was back to normal on Sunday.

3) On Sunday, we went to a friend's house to go swimming; Andrew loves being in the water. After being in the pool for an hour, my friend swims up to him with a pudding cup in her hand.  She begins to feed Andrew the vanilla pudding. Of course he loved it... ended up eating about half the cup.  It happened to be his dinner time, so I tried feeding him a bottle... of course he didn't drink it! Oh well... I guess it's okay to be spoiled every once in a while.

4) On Monday, Andrew received his first cold.  He had a minor runny nose and cough throughout the day.  That night he was up coughing at least three different times.  Two of those times he was able to put himself back to sleep, but we did have to get up with him once (well... Josh had to get up with him once).  Luckily, it is a very rare occurrence that we have to get up with him in the middle of the night.  Tuesday night he was up a couple times coughing, but eventually he went back to sleep on his own.

5) Until last night we had been giving Andrew his evening bath in his infant tub. We knew it was time for a change because he has been trying to sit up in his tub and he was getting so big there was no room for his toys.  So last night we blew up his new bathtub... hello rubber ducky!  He LOVED it... he was able to sit up and play with his toys.  We probably won't use this for long, but occasionally he still falls back and I didn't want him to do that in the big tub.

I wonder what will happen next????

There's A Doctor in the House

Amongst all the craziness of the wedding, travel and family fun I forgot to share our other good news. Josh passed his final section of Boards!!! He is now licensed by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners.

Congratulations Dr. Josh!

What’s next?  Well, he has begun looking for jobs in Houston/Dallas; but in the meanwhile he still needs to do a couple things.  He needs to apply for and take his Jurisprudence state exam, which is turning out to be a lot of work in order to complete the application. Once he passes that, it will be a waiting game to receive the official Licenses though the mail.

He is standing at the end of the tunnel, and the light is BRIGHT!  We are sending a sincere THANK YOU to our family and friends who have been so supportive over the years.  We have appreciated the thoughts, prayers, free lunches and generous gifts over the past four years. We have had some really hard times as a family and without you we might not have made it through.

Please send another prayer that Josh will be able to find a great clinic to work for before the end of the year.  Sending our love and gratitude, the Elliott Family.
