Grapeland Peanut Festival

We headed to Grapeland, TX for the weekend. Josh's little sister was competing in the 68th Annual Peanut Queen Coronation. We arrived Friday evening. After a little playtime and visiting we all headed to bed. Saturday morning Josh went to pickup Grandma Barbara at the nursing home so she could attend the Parade with the rest of us.  Andrew enjoyed all the fire trucks and sirens at the beginning and the hundreds of horses towards the end of the parade.  We went the the carnival that afternoon where we visited vendor booths (I bought a cute wooden/iron cross for my wall collection) and we had a little BBQ for lunch.  Carnival was short lived because there was a thunderstorm headed our way. Josh and I threw Andrew in the stroller and speed walked all the way back to the house -- we made it just in time.  We lost the James crew at the carnival... they weren't so lucky to make it back in time - They were soaked!!!!  That evening, the adults attended the Peanut Queen Coronation while a Dixie (James' kids grandmother) stayed with the little ones.  Unfortunately, Mary didn't win, but she certainly had fun competing and we had fun watching!  Sunday we made muffins for breakfast and stayed around the house visiting. We headed home shortly after lunch. Here are some pics!
